History:

MASL is committed to applying psychological perspectives to the promotion of healthy communities. We take our take our example from the work of Alfred Adler who did much of his work in a public forum, for the purpose demonstration and in the interest of the broader community. This is in keeping with Adler’s democratic views of treatment and of the capacity for communities to be their own source for the promotion of mental wellness.

Adler established free-standing Child Guidance clinics throughout Vienna to aid parents, educators, and social workers in better understanding the needs of youth. Later, Adler would be active throughout Europe and across the United States, in establishing community lead initiatives to promote psychological wellness and constructive parenting strategies.
